I think I need help with some things, particularly poles! Also Titan's run, not too much Thunder's as it was just the first run going opposite directions and there were a few quirks.Titan's Run was mostly my fault. Well, he was pokey and slow, but I screwed up the 3rd barrel by pulling the rein toward my knee. That tightened both sides of the reins and he thought I said WOAH. ARG... I DIDN'T Do that on Thunder.Better...HELP! Arg.
For those of you who own your own boarding facility, work at one, or even board - what is one thing that you can't live without in your barn? I'm asking along the lines of certain manure forks, storage buckets, different types of feeders, etc. I want to know what it is and why you can't live without it. Thanks in advance. Cross posted to equestrian, the_barn_help and my private journal.
Last week, my barn owner sent a letter out to all of our boarders letting us know that on June 1st she's going to be taking a break from the barn. Rebecca (another boarder) would be leasing the barn from Donna (the BO). Donna told me that her husband, Joe had wanted her to ask me first but Donna didn't think that I would be interested. She then asked me if I would be interested in leasing the barn from her if things with Rebecca fell through. As much as I love Donna and wanted things to work out, I wished, hoped and prayed that things would fall through with Rebecca because I really wanted this opportunity. Well... Donna called me this morning and asked me if I was seriously interested! Her and Joe are working on the contracts and stuff today, changing everything from Rebecca's name to mine. We're meeting at 2 PM tomorrow afternoon to discuss the contract and go over things. So - Anyone have any advice or anything? Links to helpful websites, important things to think about when discussing the contracts and such?
I was wondering what everyone uses to keep there horses sound? What do you think about magnetic therapy, joint injections, icing, etc.Have any of you used acupuncture or photon laser therapy? If so, how was that? How often do you use ice or hosing? And how hard/often to you run your horse?I'm just trying to get a general idea on what other people have found success with, or not found success with.Feel free to talk about shoeing, vetting, supplementing and chiropractic practices as well. I'm up for discussing any of it.Thanks.
I thought I'd post some of what we did at the Lynn McKenzie clinic I went to. ( Essentially, heres the breakdownCollapse )
I was wondering if anyone had a hackamore they wanted to get rid of. I need a short shanked mechanical hackamore with a rope or rawhide nose band. I would take one with the rubber covered bicycle chain noseband. Thanks in advance!
